Back to Schedule!

After having a pretty busy year running after toddlers, I’ve decided to get back in action with my piano studio! It is exciting to be back to a regular schedule where I can focus some new methodology I’ve been wanting to try with my younger students. I have been focusing more on ear training with my younger kids, because I think it’s valuable to use your ears AND sight-read. For long time I worried my students were only relying on my their ears and not reading music like they should. However, after finding many students feel discouraged with the daunting task of learning how to read music—- I’ve decided a little ear-training and “copying” is okay. It develops recognition of patterns and musicality to watch and mimic the teacher. As long as it is not replacing sight-reading altogether, it is an encouraging avenue for those just starting to learn to play piano.

I’m also digitally upgrading my studio! So be on the look out for text invoice! I’m hoping to make things more simple for parents!
